Instant local check

See the key and code your browser receives

Focus the box and press a few keys. This lightweight check helps separate a dead key from a wrong operating-system layout before you open the full visual tester.

Quick keyboard input

Typed characters follow your active Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, or Android input method.

Key events stay in this browser. This box does not upload or save what you type.

Live key readout

key reflects the active language or IME; code usually reflects the physical key position.

Web, Windows, Android & AI

Use KeyboardTester.click on the device you have

The products serve different jobs. The browser and Windows app expose the live web tools, the Android APK measures native phone hardware, and the AI Assistant helps select a test and understand its result.

Windows app

Microsoft Store & browser tools

Install KeyboardTester.click from Microsoft Store for a Start-menu shortcut to the same live multilingual tool suite.

  • Windows 11 and supported Windows devices
  • Switch among the ten website language hubs
  • Updates arrive through the live website

The Store listing is English. The installed PWA opens the multilingual website and normally needs an internet connection.

Direct Android beta

KBT Measure Suite Android APK

The native Android app focuses on phone hardware that benefits from camera, touch, vibration, and motion-sensor access.

  • Camera measure, ruler, caliper, protractor, and level
  • Touch, vibration, accelerometer, and gyroscope checks
  • Localized download and setup guidance in ten languages

The current APK interface is English, is beta/debug-signed, and is downloaded directly rather than through Google Play.

10-language guidance

KBT AI Assistant

Ask in your chosen site language when you are unsure which keyboard, mouse, screen, camera, or audio test to run.

  • Recommends relevant localized tools
  • Explains test steps and result meanings
  • Available in all ten language editions
  • Rate-limited to 12 messages per minute

It is a guide, not the hardware test itself. Submitted messages and recent context are sent through our endpoint to Groq; never share passwords or private text.

Correct layout first

Set your input language before judging the keys

A working key can type the wrong symbol when the operating system is using a different layout. Set the intended input method, then compare both the printed legend and the browser result.

Windows 11 language and keyboard layout

  1. Open Settings → Time & language → Language & region.
  2. Add a language, or open its language options and add the required keyboard.
  3. Press Windows key + Space to switch among installed layouts.
  4. Open the matching tester above and press every physical key once.

Read Microsoft’s official language and keyboard-layout guide.

Android keyboard language

  1. Open your keyboard settings and add the language or layout you use.
  2. In Gboard, open Languages → Add keyboard, choose a layout, and save it.
  3. Hold the spacebar or use the globe key to switch layouts where supported.
  4. Use the quick input box for soft-keyboard text; use the full tester for a connected hardware keyboard.

Read Google’s official Gboard language guide.

Japanese and Korean IME note: a physical key test checks whether the browser receives a position such as KeyA. An IME test checks whether those keystrokes compose the intended Kana, Kanji, or Hangul text. Run both checks when physical keys work but the final characters are wrong.

Clear limits, accurate choices

Multi-language keyboard questions

Which keyboard languages can I test on this page?

KeyboardTester.click has ten language editions: English, Arabic, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. They cover QWERTY, AZERTY, QWERTZ, Cyrillic, Arabic-script, JIS or Kana-style, and Dubeolsik Hangul labels.

Can this page automatically detect my keyboard language?

No browser can reliably identify every printed keyboard layout from key presses alone. Use the manual layout finder to compare visible legends such as AZERTY, QWERTZ, Ñ, Ç, Cyrillic, Arabic, Kana, or Hangul, then open the closest full tester.

Do I need to change the Windows display language?

No. A Windows keyboard layout is separate from the display language. Add the required keyboard under Settings, then use Windows key plus Space to switch layouts before testing typed characters.

Can I test an Android on-screen keyboard?

You can check text input in the quick key box, but Android soft keyboards do not expose every virtual key as a browser key code. For a physical USB or Bluetooth keyboard, open the full tester and press each hardware key.

Is the Microsoft Store app a separate native keyboard tester?

No. The Microsoft Store version is an installable Windows app shortcut for the same live KeyboardTester.click web suite. Its tools and language hubs update with the website and normally need an internet connection.

Is the Android app available in every native-language interface?

The Android download and help pages are available in all ten site languages, but the current KBT Measure Suite APK interface is English. It is a direct beta APK, not a Google Play Store release.

What can the native-language AI Assistant do?

The KBT AI Assistant can recommend a relevant test, link to localized tools where available, and explain results in ten languages. It does not replace the actual hardware test. Messages and recent context are sent through the KeyboardTester.click endpoint to Groq, so do not submit passwords or private text.
