  • Unplug the charger - charging noise is the most common cause of fake ghost touches.
  • Remove thick screen protectors and magnetic cases before judging the digitizer.
  • Lay the device flat on a table and clean the glass.
  • Keep your palm off the screen edges while sweeping the grid.

Live Pen Pressure Tester

Draw with a compatible stylus. The tool separates analog pressure from the constant 0.5 pressed-state value commonly reported by a mouse.

Waiting for pen input

Use a pressure-sensitive pen and draw a slow straight diagonal, then vary pressure from light to firm. Mouse input is accepted only as a limited fallback.

Draw a straight diagonal for wobble evidence, then make light-to-firm strokes for the pressure curve.

Hold the pen steadily in contact for about one second.

All measurements stay in this browser. Exports contain only this session’s pointer measurements and browser capability flags.

A browser cannot read raw tablet firmware or electrical sensor data. A missing field usually means the browser or driver did not expose it, not that the pen is defective.

Touch Screen Test FAQ

Common touch screen test questions

How do I find dead zones on a touch screen?

Open Dead zones mode, enter fullscreen, and drag over every grid cell. Fast swipes are interpolated so cells cannot be skipped. When coverage reaches 92 percent the tool highlights the remaining cells for a confirmation pass - only cells still empty after that second pass are counted as dead.

How do I check my touch screen sampling rate?

Open Sampling rate mode and swipe in continuous circles for about 4 seconds. The tool counts coalesced touch samples per second of active dragging and reports the median in Hz: under 75 is a 60Hz-class panel, 75-150 is 120Hz class, 150-300 is gaming class, and above 300 is flagship class.

What does a dead row or column on a touchscreen mean?

Capacitive digitizers fail by sense line, so a full-width or full-height stripe that never responds is a classic digitizer row or column failure. If the grid shows a dead band while the neighboring lines work, the panel usually needs a screen replacement - software fixes will not help.

Why does my iPhone only show 5 touch points?

iOS Safari caps touch delivery to web pages at 5 simultaneous touches, even though the hardware tracks more. This test expects 5 on iPhone and iPad and never flags it as a failure - it is a browser limit, not a digitizer fault.

Can this test detect ghost touches?

Yes. Start the ghost watch (30 or 60 seconds), remove your hands during the 3-second grace period, and keep them away. Every phantom event is logged with its position and marked in red.

What should I do if this test finds ghost touches or dead zones?

Save the PNG report card, retest with the screen protector and charger removed, and compare the pattern with the detailed KeyboardTester ghost touch and touchscreen dead-zone troubleshooting guide. The report embeds the verdict, stats, and device info so a repair shop can see exactly what failed.
